  CoppaFeel!
CoppaFeel! is a charity that aims to raise awareness of the symptoms of Breast Cancer and encourage young people to engage in regular self-checks, with the message that anyone of any age can be affected. The charity was set up in 2009 after their founder, Kris Hallenga, was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer at age 23 and now hopes to increase early diagnosis rates through education in schools, university and workplaces.

       AIMS

  • Encouraging you to check your boobs and pecs regularly from a young age.

  • Educating you on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

  • Empowering you to seek advice from a doctor if symptoms persist.

Black Women Rising

 

 Black Women Rising aims to tackle barriers faced by black women diagnosed with breast cancer including higher rates of misdiagnosis, late diagnosis, and a lack of support. It holds monthly peer-to-peer support groups, pamper events and works with brands to increase diversity in breast cancer awareness campaigns.

 Whats's on ?

Monthly peer-to-peer support groups. It has also run many pamper events for women of colour and had members featured in many cancer awareness brand campaigns such as PrettyLittleThing, Stella McCartney, Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Campaign, GHD and Zalando to name just a few.

OUTpaitents 

Living Through This support’s members of the LGBTQI+ community going through cancer in order to provide a safe space for individuals who may not feel represented in many healthcare settings. They offer peer support meetings, as well as creating educational resources specific to different groups within the community, such as guidance on checking your chest for trans and non-binary people. 

We want people to go through their cancer experience with dignity and their pride intact. We know cancer is tough and can feel isolating. However, we believe that whatever your treatment plan or the path ahead of you, we can all help each other live through this experience.

       AIMS

  • Support- create a warm, friendly space to meet with others who know what you’re going through

  • Educate - develop and deliver training to health services and other charities so that they can improve their understanding of what the LGBTQI+ community regularly faces.

  • Advocate - Presenting LGBTQI+ experiences at national stakeholder meetings and healthcare forums to raise awareness of the issues affecting our community.

Breast Cancer Now 

​

Breast Cancer Now’s vision is that by 2050 everyone with breast cancer lives and lives well. In 2019 Breast Cancer Now and Breast Cancer Care united to form the UK’s most comprehensive breast cancer charity. Breast Cancer Now funds almost 290 of the brightest minds in breast cancer research as well as providing support for anyone affected by breast cancer with their Moving Forward courses, Living With Secondary Breast Cancer groups, Helpline and more. They also provide support for men facing breast cancer through Someone Like Me, who matches men facing breast cancer with a trained volunteer who has had a similar experience and Men’s Virtual Meet-Up (VMU) Group

Oxford Breast Buddy

​

Oxford Breast Buddy provides support to breast cancer sufferers going through treatment in the local Oxfordshire area. They hold monthly meetings and mindfulness classes for patients, along with a breast cancer nurse that can provide advice and support. The charity also hands out post-op recovery bags to those who have undergone surgery which include a hand-sewn cushion that can provide comfort during recovery.
